Developing Pervasive Agent-Based Applications: A Comparison of Two Coordination Approaches
نویسندگان
چکیده
Pervasive computing is concerned with making our lives easier through digital environments that are sensitive, adaptive, and responsive to human needs. Different works have shown the suitability of the agent paradigm for the development of pervasive applications. However, so far there is not a dominant approach adopted for the development of agent-based pervasive systems. In particular, two key classes of approaches exist, based on FIPA interaction protocols and tuple spaces. The contribution of this paper is the comparison and evaluation of tuple spaces and FIPA-compliant coordination mechanisms for the development of pervasive applications. To do so, we are going to compare two approaches that exemplifies these agent technologies: MalacaTiny-Sol and SAPERE.

Developing pervasive multi-agent systems with nature-inspired coordination
Pervasive computing systems can bemodelled effectively as populations of interacting autonomous components. The key challenge to realizing suchmodels is in getting separatelyspecified and -developed sub-systems to discover and interoperate with each other in an open and extensible way, supported by appropriate middleware services. In this paper, we argue that nature-inspired coordination models...
متن کاملProgramming Secure and Robust Pervasive Computing Applications
We have developed a programming framework for building context-aware multi-user collaborative applications in pervasive computing environments. It supports context-sensitive security and multi-user coordination requirements. It also supports error handling in pervasive computing applications through an exception handling model. In this paper we present the programming framework and demonstrate ...

Drilling requires accurate information about locations of underground infrastructures or it can cause serious damages. Augmented Reality (AR) as a technology in Ubiquitous GIS (UBIGIS) can be used to visualize underground infrastructures on smartphones. Since smartphone’s sensors do not provide such accuracy, another approaches should be applied. Vision based computer vision systems are well kn...

Pervasive and ambient intelligence will involve interaction coordination and cooperation among more and more smart devices. Research in Multi-agent systems addresses the issues of interaction and autonomy and thus provides interesting technologies to design pervasive and ambient computing environments. In this article, we explore various approaches to interconnect the physical and material worl...
متن کاملEvaluating ELT Materials: A Comparison between Traditional Materials and Mobile Apps
This study attempted to evaluate and compare language learning apps and the related traditional books on the same subject. The apps included Murphy’s English Grammar and Cambridge Discovery Readers and the traditional materials were English Grammar in Use and Developing Reading Skills. The study, thus, aimed to do a comparative analysis between traditional ELT materials and the digital versions...
